Dark Money = Front Page News Michele Reagan AZ Candidate SOS

I need your help to defeat an unprecedented dark money campaign waged to capture Arizona’s second highest office.

This is not the Arizona political state of affairs I grew up in.  Dark money continues its unrelenting downpour into the Secretary of State’s race, approaching nearly $600,000.  Rumor has it close to $1,000,000 will be spent by the time August 26th rolls around.

Disappointingly, the conversation about dark money has drowned out what should be the real issues of this campaign.   According to the Arizona Republic, the Secretary of State’s race has become a single issue race – how much dark money will be spent? See the article here.

It’s infuriating that these anonymous donors, and the groups doing their dirty work, are trying to buy our elections. I fought for transparency in campaign contributions at the Capitol earlier this year and was thwarted, and now dark money is rearing its head again.  I ask that you contribute to my campaign today, so we can show that the PEOPLE of Arizona determine elections and not anonymous millionaires!

Certain Arizona elections seem to be at the hands of political mercenaries, taking out a hit against any candidate as long as the price is right.  A group whose website proclaims they “oppose all subsidies” while backing a candidate whose entire campaign is subsidized by the government through clean elections is outrageously misleading.

It’s time Arizonans take back their elections.  As your next Secretary of State, I will shine a light on dark money, because we deserve to know who is trying to buy our elections. I hope you will stand with me in this fight.  I ask for your support and your vote so I can bring accountability, transparency and integrity to our elections.

Sincerely,

Senator Michele Reagan

The Momentum Continues to Build with Republicans Across Arizona

The Momentum Continues to Build:
Republican Hugh Hallman Leads the Way in the Polls and
in Support from Conservative Leaders Across Arizona

With less than three weeks until the August 26th Republican Primary election, Hugh Hallman is building momentum in the polls and with Republican supporters across Arizona!

While one of Hugh's opponents today is citing a poll that's almost a month old, The Arizona Republic today reported on a poll taken in the past week that shows Hugh Hallman with a clear lead in the State Treasurer's race.

And conservative leaders such as former Congressman Barry Goldwater, Jr., Congressman Matt Salmon, Congressman John Shadegg, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan and others are continuing to lend their support to the campaign. You can see our full list of endorsers — from across the state of Arizona — on our web site at www.HughHallman.com/endorsements.

Hugh Hallman is committed to running the State Treasurer's Office in the right way, with a focus on ethics, fiscal responsibility and transparency. He made a name for himself by saying "no" to perks and gifts while Mayor of Tempe, and he'll have the same policy as State Treasurer.

But there's still work to be done as voters continue to return their early ballots. So please remember to vote early or at the polls in the August 26 Republican Primary election, and please spread the word to vote Hugh Hallman for State Treasurer!

Thank you for your consideration and support!

Martha McSally Candidate US Congress-hours away

Our Pre-Primary fundraising report deadline is tonight at 9:00PM AZT/12:00AM ET. We've been working hard to get out our message about the need for better leadership in Southern Arizona that works for us, and our efforts are paying off.

Ron Barber was named again one of the most vulnerable Members of Congress this week. But we aren't the only ones who know this.

Nancy Pelosi and her Washington allies have been going all in this election to help Ron Barber cling to his seat, dumping over $1.5 million to run attack ads against me. They think they can buy this election, and unless we fight back, they might be right.

Tonight at 9:00PM AZT/12:00AM ET is my Pre-Primary fundraising report deadline.

If we want to elect leadership who will fight for us, not partisan interests in Washington, we need a strong showing tonight.

If you can contribute, please visit my campaign here: https://mcsallyforcongress.com/invest-in-martha/

Thanks for all your support.

In Service,

Martha

We Deserve Better-Milhaven For Scottsdale

Over the last week, you may have come across some negative and baseless attacks against me.  I recently learned that this group is under investigation for breaking campaign laws. It saddens me that some in Scottsdale politics are sinking to a new low.

As a community, we should demand better.

You have my promise that Linda Milhaven will continue to run a positive campaign. You will see Linda Milhaven continue to work together to preserve what makes Scottsdale special.  You will see Linda Milhaven continue to build a bright future in a civil and positive manner.

In my 30 years as a Scottsdale community banker, integrity has always been important to me, and it has been one of the hallmarks of my service on the City Council.

Because of that integrity, Linda Milhaven, the person and the city council woman has earned countless endorsements of well-respected organizations and individuals from all corners of our community.

My message hasn't changed, no matter who tries to tear down our neighborhoods.

Linda Milhaven will work for Scottsdale to make government more efficient, delivering value for your tax dollars and support a flourishing local economy.

Please stand with me, Linda Milhaven, and help me spread the word that there is no place for ugly, vulgar, baseless attacks in Scottsdale government.

Thank you for your support and look I look forward to continuing to represent you on the City Council.

Linda Milhaven

AZ Candidate Farmer Promises to Donate Legislative Salary to Public Teachers in District

Toby Farmer Promises to Donate Legislative Salary to Teachers

Toby Farmer Promises to Donate Legislative Salary to Teachers

Today, Buckeye small business owner and Republican candidate for Senate District 13 Toby Farmer promised to donate the proceeds of his entire legislative salary to teachers during his first term if he is elected in the November 2014 election.

Farmer, who has long stated that he is running for office because he believes in public service, has also been a strong proponent of business owners giving back to the community.

“As the son of two public school teachers, I know what these teachers go through,” said Farmer. “They’re underpaid, underappreciated, and it seems like they are receiving less support from the legislature every year.”

“We’ve got teachers spending money out of their own pockets on school supplies,” said Farmer. “The fact that the state is even considering a pay raise for legislators while teachers struggle is unconscionable.”

Farmer announced that he would donate the entire proceeds of his yearly salary to teachers in his district in both Yuma and Maricopa counties every year of his first two-year term if elected by voters this November. Arizona legislators are paid $24,000 per year.

Jeff Schwartz Endorsed by the AZ Gov Jan Brewer for State Senate!

~BREAKING NEWS!~
GOV. BREWER ENDORSES JEFF SCHWARTZ FOR LD 23 STATE SENATE

Joining Business, Education, Healthcare, and Trusted Community Leaders

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (August 4, 2014) ~ In the race for the open District 23 Senate seat, Jeff Schwartz gained the endorsement of Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer. This follows his endorsement by Maricopa County Supervisor Andy Kunasek, Corporation Commissioner Susan Bitter Smith, The Arizona and Phoenix Chambers of Commerce and The Arizona Republic.

Governor Brewer had this to say about her endorsement, "Jeff Schwartz offers this district, and the state as a whole, a fresh approach with a vision for the future.  Arizona is still facing some challenges and it is important that we elect leaders who know how to solve problems, grow Arizona's economy and focus on the priorities of government.  Jeff Schwartz is that kind of leader. "

Uniquely qualified for this office, Jeff understands the importance of a strong private sector, quality public education, and safe streets.  "I am honored to have the endorsement of Governor Brewer.  She doesn't give up, she knows the people of Arizona depend on her and she values that trust," said Schwartz.  "I've spent my entire career working in the private sector, developing neighborhoods across the valley, the places we call home. I knew the families that would live there depended on what I was doing to make their home a great place.  Now, I want to take those experiences and skills and make this state we call home the best it can be.  Governor Brewer is a leader and I will work hard to emulate the leadership she has shown Arizona from her efforts to secure our border, educate our children and balance our budget," said Jeff in response to the endorsement.
