News Advisory from Michele
Reagan
Arizona Secretary of
State
Secretary Reagan thought it would be
helpful for your planning purposes to provide a brief primer in advance of the
Presidential Preference Election on March 22nd, including the stats
which we pulled yesterday after Monday night’s deadline to register.
Early ballots should start hitting mailboxes today. She
encourages voters to return voted ballots via the USPS as soon as
possible to reduce the time it takes our counties to process ballots after
the election.
As
always, Secretary Reagan is available for comment.
Here are
the interesting figures since the last registration report on January 12,
2016
Total
statewide enrollment
+41,020
Democratic enrollment
+30,623
Republican enrollment
+22,085
Not
designated or “independent” -11,079
Also, it
may interest you to know we will be performing our PPE Mock Election and posting raw data
to our results site in mid-March shortly before the election. I’ll provide an
update and more info fairly soon.
Press agencies
that wish to download data in its raw format for use in press feeds will be able
to download an XML file from an FTP or HTTP site.
