As you know, Legislative District 28 has been in the news quite a bit lately.
First, Democrat State Representative Eric Meyer announced that he will be running for State Senate. Then, Republican State Senator Adam Driggs decided not to run for re-election, prompting current Republican State Representative Kate Brophy McGee to challenge Eric Meyer for the open Senate seat.
I applaud Adam's commitment to Arizona and losing his experience and leadership at the State Capitol will be tough, but I am confident that Republicans will keep the Senate seat with Kate Brophy McGee.
With all these recent moves, we now have two open seats for State House for the first time since 2006. Republicans have always held one of these two seats during this time, but never both.
The upcoming election is a great opportunity for Republicans to
take both seats, and I feel that my experiences serving on the Paradise Valley
Town Council, representing our community's tourism interest on the Scottsdale
Visitors and Convention Bureau and holding several leadership positions for the
LD28 GOP, gives me a unique understanding of our district and a leg up in the
race.
