A.J. La Faro former Maricopa Cpunty Chair urges party to endorse 'anyone but McCain'
Former Maricopa County Republican Committee Chair A.J. LaFaro is pushing the state party to
officially endorse "anyone but Senator John McCain" in 2016
because of the senior senator's "very liberal attitude."...
A.J. LaFaro, recently introduced
the resolution, hoping for a vote at party meetings in January.
LaFaro said he would support state Sen. Kelli Ward or any of McCain's
lesser-known challengers.
This is the latest attack against
McCain in a long battle within the party. Maricopa County
Republicans first censured Senator McCain in 2014 when they overwhelmingly
voted to
censure McCain for his "long and terrible record of
drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal
Democrats."
The censure garnered national publicity and
caused the firestorm and the political civil war that's occurring
right now in Arizona," LaFaro said. LaFaro is counting on this
resolution to garner the same publicity.
Moderate Republicans responded by
recruiting precinct leaders without an agenda. While
county chairman, LaFaro struck back by appointing
conservatives to vacant seats.
LaFaro's new resolution criticizes McCain
on immigration reform, the Iran nuclear deal and his description of some
Republicans as "crazies" and "wacko
bird." McCain's campaign took the high road and declined tocomment.

AZGOP State Committeemen Endorse Anyone BUT Senator John McCain We state committeemen of the Arizona Republican Party (AZGOP) fully support our Party platform and the candidates in the general elections that support that platform. However, in the primary elections we are free to endorse and support the Republican candidates of our choice. Since the AZGOP members overwhelmingly censured Senator McCain in January 2014, we had hoped he would have returned to our Party’s values. He has not. So with conviction we rise and declare:
WHEREAS, Senator McCain is a self proclaimed “Republican”, but is actually a RINO, that was censured by the Arizona Republican State Committeemen on January 25, 2014; and voted for DHS funding that included money for Obama’s illegal amnesty for illegal aliens; and campaigned on securing the border but co-sponsored legislation giving “pathway to citizenship” to millions of illegal aliens; and actively worked to purge the party of grassroots conservatives using out-of-state funding via the Arizona Grassroots Action PAC; and voted to kill an amendment requiring certification that Iran has not directly supported or carried out an act of terrorism against the United States before sanctions can be lifted; and
demeaned Republicans who stand for the Constitution, calling them “crazies” and “wacko birds”; and voted to support funding for the Iran Nuclear Deal, Obamacare, Executive Amnesty and Planned Parenthood’s selling of body parts.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the AZGOP state committeemen endorse anyone BUT Senator McCain in Arizona’s 2016 Republican primary election for the U.S. Senate.

2. Submitted to Robert Graham, Gabby Salcedo-Mercer, Chris Campbell, Linda White and Chad HeywoodOn November 24, 2015. Way before the 45 day deadline to submit resolutions per the AZGOP Bylaws.

Resolutions, I am submitting the attached resolution entitled "AZGOP State Committeemen Endorse Anyone BUT Senator John McCain".
The resolution is exactly 250 words and is being submitted at least 45 days before the Arizona Republican Party's (AZGOP) Annual Meeting being held on January 23, 2016. I expect the resolution be immediately forwarded to the AZGOP Resolutions Committee Chairman and Committee Members no later than December 7, 2015, with an e-mail acknowledgement of receipt being sent to me at aj_ml@hotmail.com
Given Robert Graham's and the AZGOP's repeated track record of deceit and obstructionism, I have blind copied several conservative Republican leaders as "witnesses" in hopes this resolution isn't sabotaged like resolutions were
in 2014 and 2015.
I also encourage those individuals to volunteer to be the Chairman and Committee Members of the AZGOP Resolutions Committee so the chicanery Robert Graham and Chad Heywood pulled in 2014 and especially 2015 doesn't happen again.
