AZ Rep Kate Brophy McGee:From Kate's Desk

Representative Kate Brophy McGee

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! In LD28 I had the opportunity to meet with constituents, celebrate student achievements throughout the district, and march in the Arcadia and Butler Park Independence Day parades! As summer draws to a close and our kids return to the classroom, the following are some great programs and events I wanted to share with you:

VIP Program

PV Schools Volunteer In Paradise Program

Join the Volunteer In Paradise (VIP) program and help kids succeed in school! Community volunteers are invited to become VIPs and provide academic assistance to students in kindergarten to sixth grade.
For more information and to register for a no-obligation orientation, please visit www.pvschools.net/VIP. You may contact VIP Coordinator Laurie Smith at VolunteerInParadise@gmail.com or 602-449-2053.

Kids with bikes

Recycle Your Bicycle For a Kid in Foster Care

For the past five years, a dedicated group of volunteers, led by my friend Joe Jacober, have collected gently used bicycles and fixed them up 'like new' to give to children in foster care during the holiday season. This year will be bigger and better than ever. Recycle Your Bike is a project by the Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents.

New Foundation for Blind Children Building

Foundation For Blind Children Grand Opening Celebration

The Foundation’s new building, located in the heart of LD28, will open later this month. The new building, complete with classrooms, activity labs and an adaptive gymnasium gives the Foundation room to grow for the next 20 years!
Coffee cup

Breakfast with Representatives Kate Brophy McGee & Heather Carter

Join Representative Carter and me for a legislative update and informational presentation on the ins and outs of Social Security by our friend Jeff Young. We will be meeting Monday, September 21 at 7:30 am at Chompie’s Deli, 4550 E. Cactus Road. We know it’s early so we will provide the coffee!
