Jeff DeWit Endorsed by LD22 Representatives Phil Lovas and David Livingston

Phoenix - Jeff DeWit, CEO/Investment Professional and Arizona State Treasurer candidate, announced today that Representatives Phil Lovas and David Livingston have endorsed his candidacy.

“Jeff would make an outstanding State Treasurer. He is the most conservative candidate, has a record of financial management and is the only candidate against expanding Obamacare in Arizona. I wholeheartedly endorse Jeff for Treasurer,” said Lovas.

Livingston added, “As a professional financial advisor, I know how important it is to have a knowledgeable expert overseeing our state’s $13 Billion investments. As a CEO and Investment professional Jeff has the private sector experience that should be required for our State Treasurer. On top of having the experience, Jeff is a proven conservative and will represent our state well. I’m proud to endorse Jeff DeWit for Arizona State Treasurer.”

“I’m honored to have both Representative Lovas and Livingston endorse my campaign. What’s even more special about this endorsement is that they are my state representatives,” said DeWit. “I’m proud of the work they both do at our State Capitol. Legislative District 22 is represented well by strong conservatives.”

Tell Them The State Treasurer's Office Is Not For Sale

Jeff DeWit and Randy Pullen Want to Buy the Job of

State Treasurer. Tell Them Your Vote Is Not For Sale.

Late last night the latest round of campaign finance reports came out. And two of the most shocking reports were from the State Treasurer’s race.

The latest reports show that my opponents, Jeff DeWit and Randy Pullen, have together spent more than $276,000 of their own money in an effort to buy the seat. They did this because DeWit was only able to raise $33,000 and Pullen was only able to raise about $73,000 from individual contributors. I guess they decided that if they wanted the office, they would have to buy it themselves.

We ran a different kind of campaign. While I did put my own skin in the game — a fraction of what DeWit and Pullen have spent — we’ve raised more than $300,000 from people just like you who believe that Arizona needs responsible, trustworthy leadership in the State Treasurer’s Office.

And yet, because of my opponents’ massive personal spending on this race, false accusations against me and distortions of my record — as well as an $80,000 "independent expenditure" attack against me — some polls are showing the race is going to be close. Every vote is going to count in selecting the person who manages billions of dollars in our taxpayer revenues and assets.

So I’m asking for your support at the polls on Tuesday to show that the State Treasurer’s Office is not for sale to the guy with the biggest checkbook. It’s a position that should be earned by a candidate with real experience in public service and a track record of fiscal responsibility and high ethical standards.

I’ve promoted those ideals my entire career, and would welcome the opportunity to put my experience to work for you as your State Treasurer. Thank you for your consideration, and if you haven’t voted yet, please remember to vote at the polls on Tuesday, August 26. And remember — if you have your mail-in ballot, you can carry it to any polling place in Arizona and turn it in.

Sincerely,
Hugh Hallman
Republican Candidate for Arizona State Treasurer

Cook Political Report: "Walter has gained a small edge"

Yesterday the Cook Political Report suggested that we have a "small edge" heading into Election Day, but as you and I both know this race is too close to call!

"The GOP primary between retired NFL quarterback Andrew Walter and Air Force veteran Wendy Rogers has been very quiet, if mostly because neither has raised enough money to sustain a heavy Phoenix market ad campaign," Cook reported. "Some Republicans believe Walter has gained a small edge, but expect the race against Sinema to heat up as soon as a nominee is chosen."

With just 72 hours left until Game Day, we're kicking into overdrive... and we need your help one more time! You can help in three important ways:

1) Make a contribution of $25, $50, $75 -- or more if you can -- to our campaign

2) Volunteer for a few hours at headquarters, driving voters to the polls, or at your polling place by calling Michael at (480) 447-5492

3) Find five friends who haven't yet voted -- or perhaps haven't yet made up their minds -- and ask them to cast their votes for Andrew Walter on Tuesday. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and, as you know, in a race this close every vote counts!

Thanks for all you have already done and for helping us one more time as we head into the final hours of the Primary campaign!

Sincerely,

Andrew Walter

Future of Education in Arizona-Ken bennett Candidate For AZ Governor

Ken Bennett for Governor

With yesterday’s news that Arizona must immediately increase its funding for schools by more than $300 million, it’s imperative our next Governor have the experience to successfully navigate the stormy fiscal seas ahead.
That’s why next Tuesday’s Primary Election is so important.  Your vote will have a direct impact on the state’s education system and fiscal future.
Huge debates have raged for years about how much, or little, Arizona spends on education.
While more than half of the state’s budget is directly dedicated to education, most reports show our state near the bottom in the amount of spending per K-12 student.
During my four years as Senate President, I fought for more than $1 billion in new funding for education.  The highest four-year increase in state history.
If the Copper State is to become the place we all want it to be, we must do a better job educating our children and keeping our financial commitment to our schools.
On Tuesday, you can make that happen by electing a proven leader who will strengthen standards, support teachers, protect choice and improve accountability.
I will be that Governor.

Adam Kwasman is at it again...

Adam Kwasman is at it again...saying one thing and doing another.
Last week, Andy Tobin received the endorsement of the US Chamber of Commerce—America’s largest pro-business organization—an endorsement that Adam Kwasman actively solicited and tried to receive.
But when the Chamber endorsed Andy, Kwasman turned on the US Chamber and called them a “big government” group - was this a change of heart or just sour grapes?
The US Chamber’s political director said that,Kwasman actively sought our endorsement, on March 18, and in doing so formally affirmed that he supported the work of the U.S. Chamber and was actively seeking our endorsement.”
He went on to say that Kwasman “did not get a single vote because of his embarrassing and bizarre campaign. Simply sour grapes in the final days of a failing campaign."
Folks, the US Chamber of Commerce has been on the front lines fighting Barack Obama and Ann Kirkpatrick’s reckless agenda of job killing regulations and continued support for ObamaCare.

The Chamber has been an ally to conservatives all across the United States and we are grateful to have earned their endorsement.
This is just latest episode from Adam Kwasman, who has shown he can’t be trusted to deal with important issues—like immigration—as a serious candidate for Congress.
Who can forget his publicity stunt gone wrong when he attempted to stop a bus full of YMCA campers? He turned a very serious issue, like immigration, into a Comedy Central skit.
We can’t gamble this seat on candidates who can’t be trusted to not only say the right thing, but do the right thing.
Andy Tobin is the only candidate who voted for SB1070, the only candidate who cut the size of state government and the only candidate with a proven, conservative track record.
Andy’s actions speak louder than our opponents’ gaffes and empty promises.
We need your vote on August 26th to send a battle tested, conservative to clean up Washington!

Thank you for your continued support,
Bill

Flawed Peoria Council Election On Hold After Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order

Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order Request In Peoria Election Fiasco
(PHOENIX)  Dr. Ken Krieger’s request to remedy a series of mistakes that kept him off the ballot in Peoria twice can move ahead now that Federal Judge David Campbell has granted Dr. Krieger’s request for a Temporary Restraining Order. The decision effectively stops a flawed election from taking place August 26th in the Mesquite District in the City of Peoria. The TRO only impacts the one district and the one city council race. All other balloting proceeds as scheduled.
Despite submitting the valid number of signatures to qualify for the Peoria City Council ballot and having his name actually appear in the official voter guide, Dr. Ken Krieger’s name has failed to appear on TWO early ballot forms, meaning those who received two early ballot forms in Peoria’s Mesquite District will find no place to mark a vote for Krieger.
The ruling places a hold on the election and a new special election date will be determined.

Judge Campbell granted the TRO following a hearing this afternoon in United States District Court in Phoenix.

Dr. Krieger said, “This ruling rights a number of wrongs and I am hopeful the City of Peoria can work with the County and the courts to establish a fair and lawful election. I am running to make government work better for our citizens and the recent ballot mistakes are an unfortunate example of how and why that needs to take place.  If the court had not intervened this would have been an international embarrassment for Peoria. It is appalling that the city of Peoria spent taxpayer money fighting to stop voting rights.”

Peoria Election Fiasco Goes To Court

Judge To Hear Temporary Restraining Order Request In Peoria Election Fiasco

Press Release
(PHOENIX)  Dr. Ken Krieger’s request to fix a ballot disaster that kept him off the ballot in Peoria twice goes before a federal Judge August 22nd at 11am when Federal Judge David Campbell hears Dr. Krieger’s request for a Temporary Restraining Order to prevent an essentially flawed election.
The request states in part:
“The ongoing election for the Mesquite District of Peoria City Council is irretrievably broken. Absent immediate judicial intervention, the defendants will continue conducting, and counting votes in, an election that would not meet the minimum legal standards in any democratic society.”
A related lawsuit also asks the court to provide for a special election in the Mesquite District using complete and correct ballots.

The hearing starts at 11am August 22nd at the US District Courthouse in Phoenix at 401 West Washington Street before Judge David G Campbell Phoenix Courtroom #603, 6th Floor.

Dr. Krieger will be available for comment immediately after the hearing which should conclude by 1pm.

Listen to Mitt's Call: Andy Tobin US Congress

We are heading down to the wire for the primary here in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District! Andy and our volunteers are working hard all across the district to make sure we win on Tuesday and then move on to the real challenge: defeating Ann Kirkpatrick, once and for all, in November.

We have received endorsements from Arizona Right to Life, the US Chamber of Commerce, former Senator Jon Kyl, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu and many local mayors and elected officials.

One of the endorsements we are most proud of is from Governor Mitt Romney—a man who carried our banner proudly in 2012 and who deserves to be in the White House.

Mitt said, "Andy is a proven conservative whose leadership in Arizona has been crucial to cutting state government spending, lowering taxes and fighting to stop ObamaCare.”

“He has the courage and resolve we need in Washington. Andy is a leader who will do the right thing for the people of Arizona."

You may have heard Governor Romney’s robo call a few nights ago talking about Andy’s strong record in fighting illegal immigration—as he is the only candidate for congress who voted for SB1070.

We are proud to have the endorsement from Governor Romney and so many others who support Andy’s vision for a secure border, lower taxes and less government intrusion into our lives.

We need your vote this Tuesday in the Republican primary to make Andy our nominee and finally retire Nancy Pelosi’s biggest ally in Congress, Ann Kirkpatrick.

Thanks!

Tom Horne's desperate attacks

Tom Horne is a desperate man. Down in the polls, shunned by leading Arizona conservatives and on the outs with his constituents, he’ll do or say anything in order to cling to power.

Case in point: Tom Horne’s latest campaign TV spot. After what must have been an exhaustive review of my credentials and background, the only issue my opponent could find is a $120 donation I made to a Democrat nearly a decade ago. In 2006 Democrat Pete Rios crossed party lines and supported conservatives in the fight for Arizona parents to be notified when their children sought abortions. My opponent’s desperate attempt to claim that I support Pete Rios’ position on border issues is a lie.  No one has fought harder to secure our border than Jan Brewer, and she has endorsed me because she knows I feel the same way.

Between now and Tuesday, I will continue working to earn from voters the sacred trust that Tom Horne has broken.

As Attorney General, I am committed to restoring integrity in the office that Tom Horne has sullied.

Government Isn’t the Solution to Our Problems. We Are.

Another important lesson my parents taught me is that we shouldn’t look to government to solve many of our community’s problems.  We should pitch in together and solve our own problems.

Yes, as Mayor of Tempe, I worked to limit government activity, but I didn’t want to leave holes in our community services.  Instead, I looked for ways to bring community members together to solve the problems government can’t address very well.

So, for example, we invited all the faith-community organizations in Tempe together under an umbrella called “For Our City.”  From that beginning a homeless outreach program, called IHELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) developed, involving dozens of churches, synagogues and mosques.  Through 30+ faith-congregations, IHELP provides shelter, food, showers, and laundry services, and brings homeless people together with service providers.  Every day of the year.

Habitat for Humanity, which I served for ten years, helps people earn a home.  Potential homeowners spend hundreds of hours building their own home with volunteers from around the community.  Then the homeowners still have to buy their home, albeit on a no-interest loan.  In working to build their own home, people learn the skills to take care of it and have real pride of ownership.  In my ten years with Habitat, we ran our chapter as an “all volunteer” organization, and we coordinated the work of thousands of volunteers.  We built houses, yes, but we also wove a tighter community fabric.

Fundraising is a big need if you want to support charitable work.  As Mayor, I had a unique opportunity to shine the spotlight on charities to build their grass-roots support.  It often meant doing some unusual things to attract the attention of those who could help spread the word.

I swam many times in competitive events in the chilly water of Tempe’s Town Lake.  I learned how to run, and then taught more than 1,200 people how to run ½ marathons.  Together we raised more than $1.3 million for Arizona charities.  I also created the Mayor’s Charity Challenge, and challenged members of the media to help raise money for charities by competing in a mini Ironman.

I performed a “soft shoe” dance routine with a former Supreme Court Justice to raise money to preserve her historic home.

And even during the heat of this campaign, I took time out to choreograph and perform to “Blue Suede Shoes” and raised thousands of dollars for Arizona’s Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.

The most moving perhaps, was raising the funds for Tempe’s Healing Field.  It honors all the people who were killed in the United States on September 11, 2001.  I invite you to visit the Field in Tempe Beach Park this year.

So that means there are lots of videos and pictures of me out there, some moving and many embarrassing.  But also, it points out that I do my best to live my family’s values.  Republicans call on each of us to take personal responsibility.  I do my best to fulfill that responsibility.

So, in one more effort, I have been “called out” by my brother to complete an Ice Bucket Challenge to support research for ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.  For more information about ALS, go to www.ALSA.org.

Here is my completion of that challenge and, in turn, I am calling out Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, CBS5 Newscaster Catherine Anaya and former Congressman Barry Goldwater, Jr.  Each have long supported our community's charities and causes.  They have twenty four hours to perform their own act of charity.  I know each of them will.

Thank you for your consideration.

Bob Littlefield State House of Representatives in District 23 I'm Asking For Your Vote

It has been my privilege to serve my community for three terms as a Scottsdale City Councilman. While I was on the City Council I earned a reputation for fighting wasteful spending and taxation, and for standing up to special interests to protect my constituents’ quality of life. Now I am running for the State House of Representatives in District 23 in the August 26th primary election and I am asking for your support.

Sound fiscal policy is not just about how much money you spend but also about what you spend it on; priorities matter, and the priorities of our current state legislators have left Arizona at the bottom in almost every ranking of educational and economic quality. If you want a new and better direction in state government then please vote for me. As a legislator you can count on me to work to strengthen our economy, raise our levels of educational achievement, and take better care of those Arizona children who are abused and neglected. Because they trust me to live up to these commitments I have been endorsed by a broad coalition of community leaders and civic groups:

• Governor Jan Brewer
• Former State Senator Carolyn Allen
• Paradise Valley Vice Mayor Michael Collins
• Former Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board Members Molly Holzer and Christine Schild
 • Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board Member Mark Lewis
• Former Arizona Corporation Commissioner Kris Mayes
• Former Scottsdale City Councilwoman Marg Nelssen
• Scottsdale City Councilmember Guy Phillips
• Former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley
• Former State Senator and current Phoenix City Councilman Jim Waring

• Named a "Champion of the Taxpayer" for 2014 by Americans for Prosperity
• Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS)
• Arizona Education Association
• Arizona Academy of Family Physicians
• Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association
• Arizona Nurses Association
• Designated a "Tourism Champion" by the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association
• Arizona Technology Council
• Police Officers of Scottsdale Association (POSA)
• Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona
• Named a "Champion for Education" by Stand for Children Arizona

I grew up in Arizona, I went to school here, I raised my family here, and this is my home. I am running for State Representative because I want to help make Arizona the great state I know it can be. I would be honored to have your vote.

Andy Tobin Calls for Unity, Defeating Ann Kirkpatrick is Top Priority

Over the past 11 months, voters in Arizona’s First Congressional District have been part of the debate as to who should carry the banner for the Republican Party in November.

My opponents and I have hit all four corners of the district, talking about a lot of the same things—reducing taxes, getting the federal government out of our wallets, working to replace Obamacare and fighting to make our border more secure.

On Tuesday, voters will make a decision as to who will be the Republican nominee—I hope it is me—but if it is not, I will support whoever the voters in our district choose.

We cannot forget that the overriding goal is to defeat Ann Kirkpatrick in November, but we can only do that if we work in unity with each other.

I call on my opponents, Gary Kiehne and Adam Kwasman, to stand by this pledge: We will support the Republican nominee after Tuesday’s primary and work together to defeat Ann Kirkpatrick in November.

On behalf of ALL conservatives - thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Andy Tobin

More than $300,000 In "Dark Money" Gushes Into New Attacks On Corporation Commission Candidate Vernon Parker

More than $300,000 In Dark Money Gushes Into New Attacks On Corporation Commission Candidate Vernon Parker

(PHOENIX) The dark money organization calling itself “Save Our Future Now” seems to be spending money like there’s no tomorrow. It’s most recent report filed with the Arizona Secretary of State’s office shows another $300,000 has been spent attacking Republican Arizona Corporation Commission Candidate Vernon Parker, and supporting their favored candidates Tom Forese and Doug Little.

It is widely believed APS is using these dark money organizations, “Save our Future Now and the “The Arizona Free Enterprise Club,” to persuade voters to install their favored candidates for rate hikes and new solar taxes.

One thing is certain; Vernon Parker and his running mate Lucy Mason have been repeatedly targeted by dark money organizations following their stand against new solar taxes hurting schools, churches, and seniors that APS wants
.
TUSK, which stands for (Tell Utilities Solar won’t be Killed ) has consistently and proudly disclosed its primary funding comes from solar energy companies such as Sun Run and Solar City. TUSK is proud of its messaging and the companies that support it.

Last week former U.S. Congressman and TUSK Chairman Barry Goldwater Jr. asked Arizona Corporation Commission Chairman Bob Stump to call on Arizona Public Service to immediately disclose all of its campaign funding. Thus far there has been no response.
To learn more about T.U.S.K. visit www.dontkillsolar.com.

T.U.S.K. believes that rooftop solar is similar to a charter school—it provides a competitive alternative to the monopoly. Monopoly utilities aren’t known for reducing costs or for driving business innovation, but the solar industry is. Solar companies have a track record of aggressive cost reduction. The more people use rooftop solar, the less power they need to buy from the utilities.

Energy independence means smaller profits for the utilities, so they are doing everything they can to stop the spread of independent solar.

One More Week, Three More Endorsements-Andy Tobin For US Congress

As you well know, we have one more week until Primary day here in Arizona—ballots are being cast as we speak for the next Republican to take on Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s most loyal Democrat, Ann Kirkpatrick.

Over the past few weeks, one thing has become abundantly clear: Andy Tobin is the only Republican who can defeat Ann Kirkpatrick and bring real, conservative change to Washington.

Voters shouldn't be distracted by gaffes, mistakes and sideshows.

Evidence of our growing support is shown by the amount of endorsements and volunteers we've seen in the past few weeks—they know Andy Tobin is the best choice to defeat Ann Kirkpatrick in November.

Last week, the US Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s largest pro-business organization, and Arizona Right to Life, Arizona’s largest pro-life organization, both endorsed Andy’s candidacy.

Now we’re proud to announce the endorsement of three more mayors: Mayor Kelly Willis, Snowflake; Mayor Roger Williams, Pinetop-Lakeside; and Mayor Robin Boyd, Winslow.

Mayor Boyd says it best, “Andy is the best candidate to help reverse the direction our country is headed.”

Our campaign is different: We don’t have fancy TV ads and can’t write a big personal check in an attempt to buy this election.
From Oro Valley to Show Low and Maricopa to the Navajo Nation, we have been on the trail, talking to voters and working hard for every single vote. That’s how we will win next Tuesday and how we will win in November.
We need your help to turn the tide in Washington!
Please make a contribution, share one of Andy’s videos, checkout our Facebook and Twitter accounts & visit our website!

Thank you for your support,

District 28: A Legacy of Legislative Leadership-Kate Brophy McGee 2014

I am pleased and proud to announce three outstanding public servants and role models have endorsed my reelection.  Former State Representatives Amanda Reeve, Steve Tully and Barry Wong served as dedicated and insightful legislators who worked hard to craft sound public policy for our state.  All of them continue as respected Arizona leaders and I am deeply honored to have earned their endorsement.
“I support Rep. Kate Brophy McGee for reelection to the Arizona House of Representatives to continue her service for Legislative District 28.  Whether through an official capacity or volunteerism, Kate’s heart has long been deeply-rooted in serving the public and her community.  Her dedication to advocating for the welfare of Arizona’s children and her aspirations in helping Arizona grow its economy and increase opportunities for its local businesses have been and will continue to be among her priorities while serving LD28.”

- Amanda Reeve
“Kate Brophy McGee has represented our district very well and deserves our vote to return to the Arizona House of Representatives.  I am excited to see what she gets accomplished in the future.   I hope you will join me in supporting Kate Brophy McGee.”

- Steve Tully

“I am endorsing Kate Brophy McGee’s re-election because her principled conservative leadership is what Arizona needs.  As a person of high integrity, she can balance limited government ideals with policies advancing economic development and protection of Arizona’s most vulnerable residents. Please join me in returning Kate to the legislature.”

- Barry Wong

Reeve, Tully and Wong join with former Governor Jane Dee Hull, former Secretary of State Betsey Bayless, former State Senators Barbara Leff and Sue Gerard and former State Representative Deb Gullett, as legislative icons and LD28 constituents supporting my reelection.  I am grateful for their friendship and humbled to serve as their State Representative!
