AZ AG Mark Brnovich Announces Sentence for Healthcare/ Church Bookkeeper Forging Checks

AG Brnovich Announces  Sentence for Healthcare/ Church Bookkeeper Forging Checks
Press Release
(Phoenix, AZ) – Today, Arizona Attorney General Brnovich announced that Nelda Jean Nicholson of Phoenix was sentenced on July 14 to 3 ½ years in prison for stealing more than $100,000 from a Phoenix healthcare provider and a Scottsdale church. Nicholson, who served as a bookkeeper for both groups, had been arrested by officers from the Attorney General’s Office and the Phoenix Police Department in January.

On June 12, 2015 Nicholson pled guilty to two counts of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, and two counts of Theft.
In addition to her prison sentence, Nicholson was ordered to pay almost $100,000 to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) for the misappropriation of public monies for which she was responsible, while employed as the Chief Financial Officer for the non-profit organization Visions of Hope.  Nicholson used her position to commit fraud by issuing checks to herself. She would then enter the checks as being issued to other individuals and/or entities to cover her activities.  Nicholson was accused of issuing 124 checks to herself between December 2009 and October 2012.

Nicholson was also ordered to pay the Resurrection Lutheran Church over $21,000 as restitution for checks that she wrote to herself between October 2013 and June 2014, while working as a bookkeeper at the Scottsdale church.  Nicholson was responsible for posting the church's contributions and donations, as well as receiving and paying invoices.  The thefts were discovered when the true authorized signer for the church discovered that Nicholson had forged required signatures in making checks payable to herself.

“Justice has been served,” said Attorney General Brnovich. “People who abuse their positions to steal from organizations that are improving our community, will be aggressively prosecuted by this office.”

Steve Duplissis, Section Chief Counsel for the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Section of the Office of the Arizona Attorney General prosecuted this case.

AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham Makes A Weasel Move Against MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer

At the very successful Trump Event hosted by MCRC. The AzGOP Leadership McCain,Flake, Governor Ducey and AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham show their lack of manners for not attending or at least sending good wishes. I personally think they are a bunch of narrow minded sheep. I susubsituted sheep for the A word.

MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer Barbara A.J. LaFaro
Graham pulls a dirty trick on PC office in Tempe stops payment on rent check. My take is AZGOP has marching orders to shove Bush down our throats and will play any dirty trick in the book to see Bush is the AZ Guy for 2016. Boycotting a Republican Presidential candidate told the story, the grand ole party doesn't want a candidate that makes them look incompetent on illegal immigration or point out the Republican inept congress. Trump does not follow their talking points, doesn't need their money is his own brand and doesn't need RNC.
Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham has stopped payment on the rental check for the Republicans of Maricopa County office that opened July 13 in Tempe.
MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer confirms reports that the MCRC received notification of the ‘stop payment’ from the bank last week. AZGOP never notified Bowyer, nor the MCRC Treasurer of the ‘stop payment.’  MCRC Treasurer David Ludwig messaged the AZGOP upon receiving notification from the bank, however, the AZGOP has not responded.
“We are still in shock that Robert (Graham) would commit to funding the office through 2016 and suddenly pull the funding,” said Bowyer.
When Briefs contacted Graham Monday afternoon (July 20), regarding reports of the ‘stopped payment’, Graham responded, “It appears that Maricopa County is doing well.  I thought it was appropriate and wise to hold back funds and allocate the resources based on need.  With 14 other counties we have some large battles potentially in CD 1 and CD 2 not to mention our goal to bring the state house and senate to a greater majority.  We are working to help all the counties in the state with the Redroots program.  It has been my pleasure to help Maricopa get off the ground and into an office and look forward to working with them on Redroots.”
Graham denies reports circulating among GOP leaders that the AZGOP is punishing Bowyer and the MCRC for hosting the Presidential Candidate Donald Trump event a week ago that drew thousands of Republicans in attendance.
Graham also denied reports that the AZGOP is short on funds.
Graham said, “Tyler has not publicly thanked the AZ GOP or its donors for paying the rent.”  However, long time party members, who were around several decades ago whenJack London gave the current AZGOP headquarters to the Republican Party, recall that the Maricopa County Republican Party Committee was to have access to quarters within that facility.
“Since the AZGOP removed the MCGOP out a number of years ago out of the 24th street shared space, it has been up to the AZGOP to compensate for that. Robert seemed to agree, but the sudden move is very strange and unexpected on our end. We have made a serious effort to adopt a teamwork philosophy and this is very disappointing to see. We will continue to work hard on behalf of Precinct Committeemen and find resources to fund the Tempe office,” Bowyer said this evening.
Monday evening Briefs sent these additional  questions to Graham:
1.     Why did you issue the Tempe rental check and then stop payment on it? Did you notify the county you were stopping payment?  If so, when? And to whom?
2.     Why would the county proceed with the ribbon cutting on the new facility last week if they knew AZGOP wasn’t going to pay the rent?
3.     Did you also stop payment on the county office in Sun City?
4.     How many county offices (throughout the state) is the AZGOP paying the rent on?  Have they also been cut off?
5.     Were you directed to stop that Tempe facility check because Maricopa County hosted Trump?  trump-shunned-arizona-gop-establishment-phoenix-visit
6.     Why didn’t the AZGOP host Trump?
7.     Will the AZGOP be hosting any of the Republican presidential candidates when/if they come to AZ?
8.     Or is this something the county needs to be prepared to handle in the future?

Graham responded that he was on his way back East for a series of meeting and didn’t have time to answer the questions.

Darla Dawald Announces 2016 Run for Arizona State Rep. Legislative Dist. 8

What makes a Wife, Homemaker, and Business woman want to run for the Arizona State Legislature?
"I saw my country, the American Dream, our values, our economy, our workforce, our Constitutional Rights and Liberties, being dismantled by professional politicians that no longer even pretend to represent their Constituents, and I decided enough was enough.  I am not a politician.  I am not a professional community organizer, but I am a proud citizen of this great nation, this great state, and this wonderful community of Patriots, who will no longer stand by and let 'the powers that be' run roughshod over American local culture.  We need to restore our American culture, our local communities,  and the American Dream, and so a few years ago I rolled up my sleeves and got to work doing just that."

Indeed she did.  Darla Dawald began by networking on the internet with like-minded individuals, utilizing the new horizons of social media and combining them with her passion for her community and began helping to build a network of citizens that were also tired and fed up with "politics as usual."

"I was raised in a middle class home by hardworking parents, with four siblings.  We were taught that hard work, determination and perseverance would bring us success in our pursuit of the American Dream. My parents encouraged us to become leaders instead of followers. I was blessed with a career in the management of a multi-unit retail and administrative healthcare enterprise in which I developed business acumen and management skills that helped me not only with my later business ventures, but with winning my battle with cancer 14 years ago."

In 2009 as a result of her efforts and enterprise in social media and community networking, she was appointed as National Director of the "Patriot Action Network," an online community owned by Grassfire, that she helped expand to a membership of over 92,000 members, who are devoted to the U.S. Constitution and its principles.

In her role as Director she traveled extensively with the Tea Party Express, in numerous national tours in which she spoke at more than 200 "rallies for Freedom."

She was also selected as one of three national coordinators and was a featured speaker at the historic Taxpayers' March in Washington D.C. on September 12th, 2009, an event which boasted an attendance of 1.7 million people.  She then appeared on Fox News and CNN to advocate for her patriot principles, and is now a frequent guest on radio shows in Arizona and in other communities.

"I've always been an active member of the communities in which I worked and Lived," she said.

She has been active in the Rotary Club, Vice President of the PTSA, board member and volunteer for the Navajo County Fair, and member of the City of Holbrook's Prison Task Force. She served as an advisor of the medical assisting program for the local college and was a coach for the Odyssey of the Mind program at the public school for three years. Darla also has served in ministry and in her church, as youth pastor, worship leader and church volunteer. She is also an advisory board member of the "Thrive Cultural Academy,"  and teaches a class in Etiquette at the school in Casa Grande.   "My priorities have always been God, Family and Country," she says.
"I am not a politician, I am a concerned American that loves my country and my state. Join me in this fight to preserve our freedoms and uphold our Constitution. I honor the framers of this great country and will do everything within my power and abilities to stave off the major push toward fascism."
About a year ago, Darla launched her own website, "One Nation Rising,"  [ONE NATION RISING] , a community network of citizens that are working to advance American Constitutional Rights and Liberties."
Today she said:
"We need to Unite, then rise to the occasion of Standing to preserve One Nation Under God, Liberty, Freedom, and Our Constitution through education, conservative leadership, and grassroots effecting positive change through elections at the local level.  I'm excited to announce that I filed the papers for my candidacy for Arizona State Representative 2016 in Legislative District 08. It's official. I'm running!  And that means that you are too.  Together we can not only take our community and our country back, but begin locally to create a nation and a culture of which we can be proud!"
