How we met: Scott Smith AZ Candidate For Governor

Get To Know Scott

Mayor Smith met his wife Kim on a blind date.

Doug Ducey AZ Candidate For Governor: in case you missed it...

Our campaign has gotten some great national media coverage lately from folks who are interested in and excited about my campaign for governor here in Arizona.
In case you missed it, I wanted to share with you a link to The Daily Caller article this week where we discussed my business background and plans for Arizona.
From the story:
"He talks about a strategy called 'search and reapply,' that he credits to Procter and Gamble, where he worked before coming to Cold Stone... Specifically, he said he would like to move toward an income tax model like the one in Tennessee, Florida and Texas, states with no income tax. He would like to create a business friendly environment to draw people away from California, which he believes has terrible taxation policies, in the same way that he sees Indiana drawing businesses away from Illinois."
And just Wednesday, I appeared on Fox Business News with Neil Cavuto. Click the link here to watch the interview online.
We have even received coverage from the U.S. News & World report after an interview I had with contributing editor Peter Roff.
Please share the news about our campaign with others by forwarding this email to your family and friends. There's a lot of work to do in the coming months, but the enthusiasm about our campaign and my vision for Arizona is clear.
Sincerely,

Doug

Clive Bundy Nevada Rancher-Andy Tobin AZ Candidate For US Congress

The federal government's regulatory overreach in Nevada is appalling. Cliven Bundy is a rancher just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada who is the latest victim of overbearing government regulations. Despite his family grazing their cattle on public land for over 100 years, he is in debt to the Nevada Bureau of Land Management to the tune of $1 Million. Now his cattle are being impounded and his ranch is surrounded by armed federal agents.

In Nevada, the overregulation problem right now is about cattle and grazing rights. In Arizona it’s also about forestry. Folks are constantly telling me about the Arizona logging industry’s inability to harvest trees due to government regulation. Our forests provide fuel for under-producing power stations and good land management helps prevent the kind of forest fires that have devastated rural Arizona-- costing lives and homes.  Radical environmentalists collude with the federal government to make it impossible to utilize valuable Arizona resources and make our rural communities safer.

It's my hope that Governor Sandoval will do everything in his power to ensure that the constitutional rights of Mr. Bundy and his family are not violated any further. I pray for a peaceful, constitutional, and just conclusion to this egregious federal overreach.

Sincerely,

AZ Senator Michelle Reagan on Accepting Free Tickets:"Who the heck would do that?" The Answer: Michelle Reagan

Michelle Reagan on Accepting Free Tickets:
"Who the heck would do that?"
-Michelle Reagan, Arizona Republic, April 9, 2014
Answer: Michelle Reagan
(Mesa, AZ)  In a story in yesterday's Arizona Republic, State Senator Michelle Reagan was quoted as saying,"who the heck would do that" when she received tickets to a Diamondbacks game. The answer, according to the Secretary of State disclosure records, is Michelle Reagan. In fact, over the last 4 years while serving in the State Senate, Michelle Reagan has taken thousands of dollars in free trips and tickets to sporting events. Among the gifts that Reagan has accepted are:
• Three all expense paid trips to Aspen
• An all expense paid trip to New Orleans
• A trip to Turkey
• An all expense paid junket to a college football game courtesy of the Fiesta Bowl
• Free tickets to the Phoenix Open

“While it’s admirable that Michelle Reagan is attempting to ban certain gifts to legislators, actions speak louder than words. And Michelle’s long and extensive record of taking thousands of dollars in freebies as a legislator tells a different story than the one she is telling voters today,” said Chris Baker, spokesman for the Cardon for Secretary of State campaign.

Wil Cardon supports a complete ban of gifts to elected officials and has pledged to not take any gifts from special interests as Secretary of State.

“If Michelle is serious about her newfound position of opposing gifts to legislators, she can start by joining Wil Cardon in pledging not to take any gift from special interests if she is elected to Secretary of State, " continued Baker. She should also refund the costs of the multitude of trips and tickets that she has taken during her time in the State Legislature.”

Bob Littlefield Candidate for AZ House:The Dirty Tricks Are Starting Early This Election Season

WEB SITE DONATE SIGN PETITION
On Wednesday some of you who live in Scottsdale may have received a robocall from the so-called “Scottsdale Residents Council” (a phony name, there is no such group) claiming that at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting I had insulted “people of faith” and demanding that I apologize.

It’s a lie, of course. What actually happened at the meeting is that I pointed out the obvious truth that a developer and his high-priced attorney were cynically using a church to leverage approval of a project that had been previously denied by the City Council.

In 2011 this same property came to City Council as a request for a tall, dense apartment complex near the airport and was denied 4-3. On Tuesday night this property came to City Council as a request for a tall, dense apartment complex, near the airport, with a church attached, and was approved 5-2. Not hard to see what was going on with this request.

What people of faith should be outraged about here is the use of religion first to help pass a zoning case and then to further a political “hit piece.” Clearly this is going to be a vicious, mud-filled campaign, and I need your help to fight back.

Obviously I will need your financial support to fight back against these vicious and baseless attacks -- to donate to my campaign (including online via your credit card or PayPal account) click here.

I also need signatures on my nominating petition; for state offices voters can sign my petition online here. It will take less than a minute and all you need is your driver’s license number. Again, thank you for your support.

If you have any questions or would like more information about my campaign my web site is www.boblittlefield.com and my phone # is 602-228-9145.

AZ Rep. David Schweikert: Small Business Taxes Are Stifling Growth

Home
Washington D.C., April 9, 2014—Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) released a statement following the House Committee on Small Business hearing regarding tax challenges for small businesses.
“Today’s hearing was a testament to the disincentives our tax system gives to our small businesses,” said Schweikert. “Complying with federal and state tax code is a costly process that is overwhelming our businesses and stifling their expansion.”
“According to the 2014 National Small Business Association tax survey, 40 percent of small businesses reported spending over 80 hours dealing with federal taxes. For every job left uncreated, there are numerous tax forms being filled out instead.”
“I hope this conversation can be a part of a larger wave of support for tax reform. Washington is stifling business.”
The House Committee on Small Business held a hearing Wednesday on “The Biggest Tax Problems for Small Businesses.” Witnesses included: David Kautter, Managing Director of the Kogod Tax Center, Time Reynolds, President of Tribute Inc., Rick Endres, President of The Washington Network, and Donald Marron, Institute Fellow and Director of Economic Policy Initiatives. Details regarding Wednesday’s hearing can be found here.

Congressman David Schweikert is a life-long advocate for small business growth and access to capital. He recently pledged support to Rep. Dave Camp’s ‘Tax Reform Act of 2014’ and considers tax reform to be a pillar issue.

AZ Rep David Schweikert Taxpayer Watchdog

Do you ever sit and wonder how far Barack Obama and his administration will go to violate the Constitution -- or push crushing debts onto future generations -- or use the EPA or the IRS to pursue a political agenda?

Nothing determines me to fight back more than realizing just how much damage needs to be undone in Washington.

That's exactly why I'm glad to count you as one of my allies in the fight to save our country.

You see, America has always been the land of opportunity, but lately--after all the liberal big spenders have tried to pass more and more waste into the federal budget--after how many times House conservatives have rejected Obamacare only to see it stall in Harry Reid's Senate--after Lois Lerner pulls stunt after stunt with Congress for her political shenanigans serving Barack Obama's extreme agenda--I wonder if we are going to have enough resources to take on the battles ahead.

At no time in our country's history has so much been at risk.  Obamacare alone will put us in more economic peril than any other law on the federal books.

Just how much help is it going to take?

Ask yourself what kind of operation you've seen Barack Obama's political team build state-by-state across the country.  Do you think Republicans are prepared to build the grassroots mechanics the way they need?  Are we ready to go head-to-head in the ad wars of the 2014 election and beyond?

It's that simple.

I need your help.

So please --- don't delay.  We have a real shot at winning some big seats this cycle.  The Senate is up for grabs.  Conservatives will be working together to ensure we win every seat possible.

Your help will make that possible.  And, I'm extremely grateful to count you as my team.

Senator Michele Reagan: HB2107 Keep Our Election Integrity Moving Forward

I am pleased to report to you that Arizona Senate has passed an important bill modernizing the business of gathering political petitions. You know my commitment to enhancing the integrity of our elections while working every day to make it easier for citizens to cast their vote. This bill, HB 2107, accomplishes both those goals.

The bill makes permanent a pilot project to let voters sign petitions online at the Secretary of State’s website. Not only is this process easier for candidates and voters, but the integrity and accuracy of a voter’s online “signature” is greatly improved. The pilot project demonstrated that the integrity of the system is so good that no one has brought a legal challenge to petition signatures obtained online.

Written signatures on paper are still the way for persons proposing ballot initiatives or recalls to qualify for the ballot. It takes over 200,000 signatures to get a question on the ballot. It takes six to eight weeks to verify those signatures. But, in order to accommodate early ballots, the timeframe for checking those signatures is compressed and stressful for election officials.

These days, anyone seeking to qualify a question for the ballot relies on paid signature gatherers and pays them on a per-signature basis. That system creates huge incentives for fraudulent signatures. To improve and expedite verification of this business HB 2107:
  • Requires all paid and out of state signature gatherers to register with the AzSOS before they start collecting signatures.
  • Invalidates signatures collected by unregistered gatherers.
  • Requires initiative sponsors to be responsible for the integrity of those they are paying to obtain signatures.
  • Ensures due process and equity when litigation is brought challenging signatures obtained by paid gatherers.
As the chair of the Senate Elections Committee, I have fought the influence of dark money and sought to expose the nameless, faceless hordes of activists that seek to dominate the ballot with their special interest legislation. As your Secretary of State, I will continue this fight every day I’m in office.

Thank you.

AZ Miguel Olivas US Congress Stop Grijalva and Pelosi's Progressives

Stop Grijalva & Pelosi's Progressive movement by supporting Miguel Olivas
American families rely on natural resources to earn a living. Small businesses and Chambers of Commerce push to expand on NAFTA’s $20 Trillions of goods and services that positively impact the economy.
1. Grijalva’s contribution to Arizona’s economic crisis is to demand the Boycott of our State. His extremist anti-trade and commerce agenda fails the economic progress of the nation.
2. Grijalva sponsored the “Restore the American Dream for the 99% Act,” an OWS bill that called for increased government bureaucrats; increases taxes on the middle class; and attacks seniors by demanding a tax increase on social security benefits
3. Grijalva opposes the construction of the Keystone pipeline that offers the opportunity to create jobs, reduce the national debt, and creates energy independence.
Miguel Olivas has spent the last 21 years fighting to defended local governments, businesses, and individuals from extremist policies that have: Threatened our economic/individual freedoms; Threaten our national security; and Threaten “States’ Rights.”

Learn more about Miguel Olivas at www.olivas2014.com. Your donation to Team Olivas 2014 term limits Grijalva’s Progressive movement by supporting a fiscal conservative to Congress. Your donations will be used to fund the campaign to Term Limit Congressman Raul Grijalva.

Shawnna Bolick Receives Former AZ State Representative Amanda Reeve's Endorsement

For IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phoenix, AZ- April 8, 2014- Today, Shawnna Bolick, Republican candidate for Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 28, received the endorsement of former State Representative, Amanda Reeve.

"Shawnna’s energy, dedication, extensive policy background and desire to honorably represent our legislative district and State are the admirable qualities she will bring to the Arizona House of Representatives once she is elected.  From the many years of actively engaging in her community, her children’s public charter schools, and working on issues critical to Arizona, she values the importance of studying the policy, its potential impacts and evaluating all considerations before making an objective and informed decision.  Wanting nothing less than the best for her children and yours is the conviction that fuels Shawnna’s passion to work hard for Arizona and be a strong advocate for her constituents."

“I am honored to have Ms. Reeve’s endorsement,” stated Bolick.  “Amanda was a great legislator who worked hard on behalf of her constituents and delved deep when considering policy.  She understood the importance of bringing together stakeholders to draft a sound bill.  Amanda also wasn’t afraid to read the bill and its implications before she became a co-sponsor and voted on legislation.  Amanda was a model state legislator and I will do my best to emulate her dedication to Arizona.”

Randy has an MBA in Finance and is a Certified CPA, He will be the only state treasurer in the last 12 years with these credentials. Please check out his new web site and read his bio.

IMMIGRATION

Randy was Chairman of the Prop 200- Protect Arizona Now committee that was an initiative overwhelmingly approved in 2004 by the voters of Arizona. Prop 200 requires all voters to prove they are citizens and provide photo ID at the poll to vote. As it’s Chairman, Randy worked to raise nearly a million dollars to help the passage of the Proposition. The law has withstood numerous court challenges and a Federal Court in Kansas recently ruled that it is required on both state and federal voting forms to prove citizenship.

EDUCATION

As treasurer, you are responsible for the Permanent Land Trust Fund, which has nearly $4.5 billion dollars in it. Earnings from the fund are distributed to schools around Arizona and are a critical classroom-funding stream. For this reason it is even more critical we have a good steward of our money in the Treasurers Office.

STATE TREASURER

The fundamental responsibilities of the Treasurer’s office is to take care of the state’s money, to make sure it is safe, liquid and available when all of the different state agencies, counties and cities need it to pay their bills. The Treasurer is basically the State Banker handling over $30 billion a year while managing about $12.5 billion in short term and long term investments.

REAL WORLD CREDENTIALS

Randy is a CPA and former partner with the International Account firm Deloitte & Touche. As the current Treasurer of the Arizona Housing Finance Authority and former Treasurer of the RNC, he is the best-qualified candidate to be the next Treasurer of Arizona.

ACCOUNTABILITY TO PROTECT YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS

When he was with Deloitte & Touche, Randy was the lead consultant in designing and installing the State of Arizona’s computerized accounting system in 1982. The state is in the process of replacing the system installed over 30 years ago next year. Who better to oversee the process in the Treasurer’s office than Randy?

TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS

As the former Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, Randy oversaw in 2010, the most successful election the party has ever experienced. Winning every statewide office and super majorities in both houses of the legislature. As Treasurer, his understanding and knowledge of the political process will strengthen our Party’s election efforts across the state.

Meet Effie

Working to put herself through college, Effie learned the ins and outs of a small business, the effects of government regulations, and the benefits of a job well done. tele-townhall tonight with Doug Ducey Candidate For AZ Governor

Over the last few months, I’ve been talking to voters across the state, and one of the most consistent concerns I’ve heard is over the issue of state’s rights – or, more accurately, the lack thereof.
It seems to me that under the Obama Administration, we’ve seen more and more new programs and regulations from the federal government – like Obamacare – while showing little regard for the existing responsibilities of federal government like border security.
To explore these issues, I’m hosting a tele-townhall tonight at 6 p.m. with the Goldwater Institute’s Clint Bolick, and I’d love for you to join the discussion. We’ll be taking your questions and talking about how Arizona can stand up to the federal government’s massive power grabs.
Please dial (855)-756-7520 Ext. 24509# to join the discussion.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you tonight!
Sincerely,
Doug
