CONGRESSMAN MATT SALMON ENDORSES HUGH HALLMAN FOR TREASURER

Hallman Banner Grand Canyon HOR.jpg
Says Hallman’s Record of Fiscal Responsibility is Ideal for Office

PHOENIX, Arizona (June 19, 2014) — Congressman Matt Salmon, one of Arizona’s leading conservative voices, has endorsed Hugh Hallman for Arizona State Treasurer.

The East Valley congressman has worked closely with Hallman over the years on regional issues. Congressman Salmon said his first-hand knowledge of Hallman’s experience and expertise made Hallman a clear choice for the State Treasurer’s race.

“Getting our state's financial house in order must be a top priority for all members of our state’s executive branch,” Congressman Salmon said. “With our state’s debt approaching $9 billion, it is critical that we make serious and immediate changes to how Arizona spends our money.  Hugh Hallman understands this crucial issue based on his years of experience in the private sector and his long service as Tempe’s fiscally conservative Mayor.  Hugh cut Tempe’s budget while improving services.  We can trust Hugh Hallman to serve us well as Arizona’s next State Treasurer.”

Congressman Salmon joins more than 80 conservative leaders who have praised Hallman’s combination of experience and expertise as the ideal mix for the office of State Treasurer. A full list of endorsements is available at www.hughhallman.com/endorsements.

Hallman praised Congressman Salmon’s record of leadership in the House of Representatives and said he was grateful for the support of such a long-standing conservative voice.

“Congressman Salmon has done an exceptional job of representing East Valley residents and all Arizonans during his time in public service,” he said. “I am grateful for the Congressman’s support and look forward to working with him in this office in the future.”

Hugh Hallman is a Republican candidate for Arizona State Treasurer. He is the immediate past Mayor of Tempe, a position that relied upon his background as a public servant, economist and attorney to shape policies that work for the people of his community. He also served as Chairman of the Maricopa Association of Governments during the final year of his second term as Mayor, where he played a leadership role in regional issues.

Hugh is a longtime community volunteer and lifelong resident of Arizona, where his family settled in the 1860s. In 2009, he became Headmaster of Tempe Preparatory Academy, now one of the State’s best public schools. He has a successful track record as an attorney, educator, economist and civic leader. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach Endorses Wil Cardon

Wil Cardon SOS
“It’s clear that Cardon has the courage and commitmentto stand up to the Obama adminstration”
(Mesa, AZ)  Conservative businessman Wil Cardon has picked up the endorsement of Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach.

As Kansas Secretary of State, Kobach has been a national leader for the implementation of measures to improve the security and integrity of voting.

Secretary Kobach is also the lead attorney in the case of Kobach and Bennett v. Election Assistance Commission, in which the Kansas and Arizona secretaries of state sued the federal government to preserve the states’ right to demand proof of citizenship when voters register.

“It’s clear that Wil Cardon is committed to continuing the battle to protect the integrity and security of our elections,” said Kobach.  “Wil has the courage and commitment to stand up to the Obama administration and ensure that Arizona will continue to be able to require proof of citizenship to register to vote.
Arizona and Kansas have drawn a line in the sand against unconstitutional federal interference in the voter registration process.  I’m confident that Wil will continue the fight.”

Five because it's Friday!

Your help over the last few weeks has been incredible.
A lot of people ask me why it's so important to give - - and support conservatives.
The answer is because without true patriots who are willing to stand up and fight alongside their elected representatives, we risk losing the very freedoms we hold dear.  I will always be unwavering in my defense that "We the People" hold the ultimate power in this country.
But, sadly - - "We the People" are routinely under assault by our government, with a barrage of higher taxes, poor policies for the economy, and more commonly, policies that fail to secure our border.
It's time for Congress to hold this President accountable.
I need your backing to ratchet up the pressure.
Conservatives can win - - and with your support, will win - - if we can muster the resources to band together.
I'm counting on you.
Please don't delay.

Andrew Walter Our next Congressman:Bill Gates Phoenix City Council

Andrew Walter is the leader we need in Arizona’s Ninth Congressional District. Like me, he has a strong private sector background and knows what it takes to create jobs. Andrew has a solid understanding of how to grow our economy through promoting free markets, reducing burdensome regulations, and empowering small business owners and job creators. He will fight for the hardworking taxpayers of Arizona not against them.

We need a fresh perspective and bold, new leadership in Washington now more than ever. Andrew is passionate about reducing the size of government and ending wasteful spending. Andrew and I agree that as elected officials, we are stewards of taxpayers dollars and he respects the sacrifices taxpayers make. That’s why Andrew supports a Balanced Budget Amendment. Hard working Arizonans balance their own budgets on a daily basis; our Nation’s government should do the same.

Most importantly, Andrew believes in accountability, so I know he will get the job done. I hope you agree with me, we need a Congressman like Andrew in AZ-09.

Thanks,

Bill Gates

Our new TV ad debuts

Great news on the campaign trail today! Due to your help and continued support, I’m excited to announce the launch of my third TV ad today. This ad focuses on my experience as CEO of Cold Stone Creamery and how I'll apply that experience as governor. Click view it.
Together with a few friends, we grew Cold Stone Creamery starting from just a handful of stores in Arizona. Today, it is a global brand with more than 1,000 stores in the U.S. and across the globe. We built Cold Stone into an American success story, and I will use the same principles to grow and guide the state of Arizona.
I’m encouraged by the positive feedback we've received on the campaign trail, and the momentum just keeps building. Early voting is approaching quickly, and we'd like you to join Team Ducey. If you haven’t yet, take a look at my other two ads, “Direct Message” and “Plan,” or go to my website, www.dougducey.com, to read my plan for Arizona, the Roadmap for Opportunity and Freedom, which spells out exactly what I plan to accomplish as governor.
Please take 30 seconds to watch my new ad and share it with friends and family members.

In Case You Missed It: Release the National Guard to the Border!

Congressman
 David Schweikert (AZ-06)

I wanted to share an update on the immigration crisis we've all been hearing about in the news. As many of you know, thousands of unaccompanied children are crossing into the U.S. by way of the southwest border at a record rate. Numerous buses and planes have carried these minors to facilities across the country-- more than 1,500 are in Nogales right now.
In response to this news, I wrote a bill yesterday calling for the President to allow Governors of each state bordering Mexico to deploy 10,000 National Guard men and women to assist in operations that are being left at the wayside.
You can read my letter to the President here and H.R. 4882, the Southwest Border Protection Act of 2014.

Mr. President: Our Borders Need Security

Please don't hesitate to reach out to my team in Arizona or D.C. if you have any questions about our response to this crisis.

Your help was critical

**Thank you to those who were attempting to submit a contribution. There were some technical errors with the donation form, which have now been corrected. Please click here or on the button below to donate today. Thank you! - Debbie & Sal

I hope this message finds you and your family well.

As you know the last campaign was a tough one for Sal and our family. Your help was critical for the victory, but more importantly for the future direction of Phoenix.

We hate to ask again, but with this election cycle we really need to bolster our defense against the future attacks that we hear are coming.

Last election we did not move fast enough and the government unions spent over $1 million in the race to try and stop the reforms Sal was getting through City Hall.  Reforms that are meant to protect the city.  Reforms that are designed to protect all of our families from the fiscal nightmare that cities like Detroit are witnessing across our great country.

We cannot be caught off guard again.

The last election you gave a generous donation of $200. I am asking if you could match that again this time.

Additionally, the contribution limits have changed and any individual can now give $2,500 per person.

We wouldn’t be asking if we didn’t need your help.  To make an on-line contribution please follow the link to:Donate to DiCiccio for City Council

If you would rather send a check, please send it to our home address with the check made out to DiCiccio for City Council. With a check contribution we will also need:

A full name, address (city, state, and zip), occupation, and employer.
Thanks again and we continue to appreciate your support!

The Choice of Conservative Leaders Statewide

More Statewide Republican Leaders Endorse
Hugh Hallman for Arizona State Treasurer

Another group of prominent Republican leaders has endorsed Hugh Hallman for Arizona State Treasurer — bringing Hallman’s total number of endorsements from statewide leaders to more than 80 individuals.

The latest group of leaders includes statewide officials, a county supervisor, mayors and council members:

            • Arizona Corporation Commission Chairman Bob Stump
            • Arizona Corporation Commissioner Susan Bitter-Smith
            • Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Denny Barney
            • Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny
            • Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord
            • Former Phoenix Mayor John Driggs
            • Chandler City Councilman Jeff Weninger
            • Chandler City Councilman Kevin Hartke
            • Chandler City Councilman Jack Sellers
            • Former Tempe Councilwoman Pam Goronkin

A full list of endorsements is available at www.hughhallman.com/endorsements.

“Throughout Hugh's public career, he has analyzed complex issues and challenges and has produced great solutions that have benefited Arizona taxpayers,” Commissioner Bitter-Smith said. “What a great skill set for Arizona's next Treasurer to have!”

Supervisor Barney said that Hallman’s work in the public and private sector make him the right conservative for the Office of State Treasurer.

“His record of advocating for smaller government that is accountable to the people is what we need at the state level,” he said. “His experience cutting government budgets as Mayor of Tempe and as regional Treasurer for the Maricopa Association of Governments is a record we can count on.”

Mayor Lord praised Hallman’s leadership on regional issues during his time as Mayor and said it’s important to have someone with that kind of experience serving in statewide office.

“Hugh Hallman understands what is important to Arizona’s communities in making sure we can provide services to our residents with a focus on fiscal responsibility,” she said. “I am proud to support his campaign for Arizona State Treasurer and know he will serve the people of our state well in managing our state’s assets and tax dollars.”

Hallman said he is grateful for the support of these statewide leaders and looks forward to ensuring their trust is well placed through his service as State Treasurer.

“We’ve been pleased and gratified by the support we have received from leaders throughout our state,” he said. “As we start to enter the home stretch of the campaign we look forward to sharing our vision for the State Treasurer’s office and showing why these leaders have been so supportive of our campaign.”

AZ Rep David Schweikert An Update: What we're working on

Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-06)
Last week pulled our attention in many different directions. I want to share with you what happened while I was in D.C., some good news I've read, and some suggestions my team and I have for you.

The President's Law of Unintended Consequences is Unaccompanied

We've all heard the news stories about the hundreds and thousands of unaccompanied children that have crossed our borders on their own. Many are in a state of limbo sleeping on the floor or on cots in the detention centers in Southern Arizona. This news is an example of the unintended consequences of President Obama’s disregard for the rule of law. President Obama and his administration, through actions and words, have pushed their plan for amnesty of illegal immigrants, while unilaterally relaxing our border and interior enforcement.

In the early years of the Unaccompanied Minor Program within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), less than 10,000 children were crossing the border illegally without any family members annually. Last year we saw over 30,000 children cross our borders unaccompanied and may see as many as 80,000 children placed in the hands of border patrol, and ultimately, HHS by the end of this fiscal year.

If President Obama truly cared for these young children, he would work with Congress to fix our broken immigration system. Short term measures and unilateral action are not the solution to our illegal immigration crisis.

The Southwest Just GAINed Some Great Attention
Thanks to the combined efforts of scientists, doctors, advocates and the Valley Fever Congressional Task Force, the spore that causes Valley Fever has been added to the list of pathogens slated to benefit from being included under the Generating Antibiotic Incentives Now (GAIN) Act.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) introduced the GAIN Act in July of 2012 to encourage the development of new antibacterial and antifungal drugs that would prevent serious or even life-threatening infections.  Qualifying Valley Fever as an orphan disease under the GAIN Act will allow for expedited processing of medicinal and procedural advancements, cutting much of the FDA’s bureaucratic red tape.
Because of this good news, Valley Fever has a chance to be given the full force of resources needed for scientists and doctors to develop a vaccine and cure for this disease. I look forward to seeing what the medical community here in Arizona will accomplish as a result of this good news.
Did you know we can help you with that?
Tax season just ended but that doesn't mean the filing season is over. Last week we received a record number of calls about delays and concerns with tax returns, receipts, and filings. For those of you who filed an extension, you may still be waiting to see the results of your return.

If you haven't received your tax return and are concerned there may be a delay, my team and I are here to help. It is our duty to serve you and work with you and any federal agency to help you understand the status of your claims or filings.

Take a look at my my website's IRS assistance page and give my team and me a call at (480) 946-2411. The office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
I hope this email proved informative for you as you reflect on the news of this week. As always, don't hesitate to reach out if I can do anything for you.
Sincerely,

Obamacare didn't go far enough?

In a press release on this day in 2009 by the Arizona State House Democrats, Kyrsten Sinema outlined her support for a single-payer healthcare system.  According to her, the current disaster she "helped craft" didn't go far enough.

Sinema outlined her support for the single-payer, VA-type system, in a letter she co-signed and presented to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Following the roll-out of this disastrous legislation that has hurt so many Arizonans, Kathleen Sebelius no longer holds her position as HHS Secretary.  One down, one to go.

Hard working Arizonans deserve patient-centered health care reform that will lower costs, and increase quality and choice.  These reforms include policy portability, interstate insurance purchasing, tax reform, expanding high-risk pools, HSAs, block grant Medicaid funding, tort reform, among many more.

We have great ideas that don't include a government takeover of your healthcare decisions, but I need you to join me to ensure Kyrsten Sinema joins Kathleen Sebelius as a former government employee.  Your contribution of $75, $50, $25, $10, or whatever you can give, helps fund Kyrsten Sinema's retirement party.
Sincerely,

Andrew Walter

Andy Tobin-Join me in Marana Arizona!

Please join Andy at an upcoming meet and greet on Wednesday, June 18th!

Mayor Ed Honea and Councilwoman Patti Comerford will be in attendance to show their support for Andy, the only conservative candidate who is a proven leader and strong advocate for rural Arizona.

Andy will be available to answer your questions and speak about the importance of fighting back against the overreach of the federal government, the scandal-plagued Obama Administration, the national debt, and how together as a nation we can make America great again.  Andy will take to Washington the same conservative principles that he has demonstrated in leadership as Speaker of the Arizona House such as cutting government spending, reducing taxes, and creating jobs.

“Marana needs a battle-tested conservative like Andy Tobin now more than ever, Tobin has been fighting the battles that others only talk about. He’s been working towards a better Arizona for the better part of a decade. He has worked hard to shield Arizona from ObamaCare. He has made our state the freest in the country when it comes to 2nd Amendment rights. While others talk about what they’ll do to limit government, Andy has cut Arizona’s state government by more than 20 percent. While others talk about the need for a balanced budget, Andy has balanced ours. He will faithfully represent us in Congress. It is for these reasons that I am endorsing Andy Tobin for U.S. Congress in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District."
-Councilwoman Patti Comerford

“There is no other candidate in the race for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District that I would consider supporting. Tobin is a battle-tested conservative hero of individual freedom, job creation, economic development and 2nd Amendment rights. He has been fighting against ObamaCare since the law was first introduced. He battles for smaller government, lower taxes and balanced budgets everyday. Tobin is the reason we have concealed carry, E-Verify, and a ban on partial-birth abortion. It is for these reasons and many others that I am proudly endorsing Andy Tobin for Congress. I encourage anyone who values individual liberty and our Constitution to do the same.”

Another Big Endorsement!

Less than a week after former Governor Jane Dee Hull announced her support of my campaign, we have received another big endorsement from Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach.  I’m honored to receive Secretary Kobach’s endorsement.

Secretary Kobach has been at the forefront of election reform since taking office and has implemented common-sense safeguards in their elections.  His support reaffirms that my platform of election security and fairness is the right one to lead this office.

Michele Reagan has been tirelessly fighting for election security and accountability while serving in the Arizona State Senate.  Now Kansas and Arizona are working together in a legal battle against the Obama Administration to preserve our right to require proof-of-citizenship when voters register.  I know that Michele will stand firm in this fight.  I also know that Michele will continue to lead the charge in making Arizona’s elections fair and honest,” said Secretary Kobach.

Thank you for your continued support!

AZ Rep David Schweikert Not Counting the Chickens

A twist on the old saying goes, "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."  Some have predicted that Republicans are poised to win BIG in the 2014 elections.  I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not counting my chickens before they hatch.
Here's the break down.
We have a number of U.S. Senator's retiring on the left.  Several other seats are what the pollsters call "up for grabs."
Here's the problem:
The American people deserve a ton better than what they're seeing out of Washington.  WE THE PEOPLE have been lied to, taken advantage of, and pushed aside by big-spenders, bureaucrats, and far left activists.
I need your help!
And I need it fast...
I need more good conservatives in Washington to join me in the fight for freedom!
I trust that you believe America's founding principles are worth defending.
That's why I'm counting on your help to keep power out of Harry Reid's hands come November.
Will you join me?
David Schweikert
