Transportation is a
priority for the future of our community. We must improve our bus and
trolley service. As our citizens age, our senior population looks for
alternatives to driving to help them maintain their independence. Increasingly,
young professionals are looking to get out of their cars and find green,
sustainable options to get around town. Our inadequate transportation
connections are jeopardizing our long-term livability and economic
sustainability.
To
address this issue, Council directed staff to complete a transportation study.
This study will be ready next year and will be a starting point to begin a
community conversation to find short and long term
solutions.
I
am committed to creating better transportation connections for today and for our
future.
