In the next few years we will make important decisions about the direction of our state. As the economy continues to recover we must make prudent investments to secure a prosperous future for all Arizonans. These investments cannot be conducted with indifference but instead, with fiscal responsibility and a careful calculation of return on investment. Some will be financial investments but others will be investments of dedication and commitment.
We need to make investments in our education system. Our high-school graduates must leave schools well educated. Arizona’s talented young people should enter a robust job market that keeps them here at home. Our adult population must be afforded the opportunity to receive job training to ensure everyone is equipped to tackle the jobs of tomorrow.
We need to invest in our infrastructure, not just man-made infrastructure but also the natural infrastructure our tourism industry heavily depends on.
We also need to invest in our long-term needs such as strategic water planning, job creation and retention efforts and access to affordable health care for our most vulnerable populations.
