Scottsdale weathered the economic
downturn better than any other city in the Valley due in large part to our
steadfast fiscal responsibility. We maintained a balanced budget by eliminating
redundancy, inefficiency and waste while keeping taxes flat. I am proud of the
work I’ve done to keep our city in sound financial shape.
But there is more work to be
done…As Scottsdale continues to recover, it’s critically important that we
maintain our fiscal respotnsibility. We must restore funding to a few critical
areas including capital improvements. We must ensure that our bond rating
remains high. We must fulfill our commitment to provide “Best-in-Class” city
services and public safety. And, most importantly, we must continue keep our
taxes low.
It
has been an honor to represent you the last four years and I hope to earn your
vote on November 4.
