Randy was Chairman of the Prop 200- Protect Arizona Now committee that was an initiative overwhelmingly approved in 2004 by the voters of Arizona. Prop 200 requires all voters to prove they are citizens and provide photo ID at the poll to vote. As it’s Chairman, Randy worked to raise nearly a million dollars to help the passage of the Proposition. The law has withstood numerous court challenges and a Federal Court in Kansas recently ruled that it is required on both state and federal voting forms to prove citizenship.
EDUCATION
As treasurer, you are responsible for the Permanent Land Trust Fund, which has nearly $4.5 billion dollars in it. Earnings from the fund are distributed to schools around Arizona and are a critical classroom-funding stream. For this reason it is even more critical we have a good steward of our money in the Treasurers Office.
STATE TREASURER
The fundamental responsibilities of the Treasurer’s office is to take care of the state’s money, to make sure it is safe, liquid and available when all of the different state agencies, counties and cities need it to pay their bills. The Treasurer is basically the State Banker handling over $30 billion a year while managing about $12.5 billion in short term and long term investments.

Randy is a CPA and former partner with the International Account firm Deloitte & Touche. As the current Treasurer of the Arizona Housing Finance Authority and former Treasurer of the RNC, he is the best-qualified candidate to be the next Treasurer of Arizona.

When he was with Deloitte & Touche, Randy was the lead consultant in designing and installing the State of Arizona’s computerized accounting system in 1982. The state is in the process of replacing the system installed over 30 years ago next year. Who better to oversee the process in the Treasurer’s office than Randy?
