Andrew Walter AZ Cndidate for Congress Supports Matt Salmon on Immigration

Andrew Walter: I support Congressman Matt Salmon’s H.R. 5053 and urge Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema to do her job
TEMPE – Republican Congressional candidate Andrew Walter announced his support of Matt Salmon’s H.R. 5053, legislation that addresses the ongoing crisis concerning thousands of unaccompanied alien children who have illegally entered the United States.

Outlining his support of the bill, Andrew Walter stated “President Obama’s willful disregard of existing immigration laws has caused thousands of children to become the likely victims of human traffickers, drug cartels, and other criminal organizations.  This ongoing lawlessness has caused untold human tragedy and misery.  Chaos is not defensible – it is immoral.  Inaction is not an option, which is why I urge Rep. Sinema to take a stand and offer a solution that will bring an end to this heartbreaking crisis.”

Congressman Salmon’s bill reforms and updates the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 to include Central American countries. Existing policy is limited and only includes Canada and Mexico.

In a letter to his colleagues, Rep. Salmon notes, “These children are being transported over 1,000 miles by human traffickers, drug cartels, and other criminal organizations, and run the risk of being kidnapped, raped, killed, or otherwise harmed during the journey.”  He continued, “Doing nothing is NOT the compassionate response to this humanitarian crisis.”

In response, Andrew Walter wrote a letter to Congresswoman Sinema urging her to take a stand on Rep. Salmon’s bill that will solve this humanitarian crisis.
