Let me start by saying I hope you all had a relaxing and
enjoyable weekend. As this long weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, it
is easy for us to look past the significance of this sacred holiday. I would ask
that each of you take a moment today to reflect on and remember those who have
sacrificed so much for our country so that we may enjoy days like
these.
The last 25 years of my life have been dedicated to
public service in one form or another, but that service does not begin to rival
the sacrifices that the current and former men and women of our military make
every day. Let us all take this day to raise a flag and thank a veteran for
helping make this country the great nation that it is.
Sincerely,
Ken Bennett
Secretary of
State
